I am really excited to introduce our April spotlight, Caley Kramer.  Caley joined us immediately after college and has been an incredible asset to our team.  She has this flexible nature that can’t be taught (and I envy) and can modify a session or her plans for the day to best meet a school’s needs.  She is always willing to help our new therapists needing assistance with IEP software or a veteran needing help completing evaluations quickly.  I speak for the entire DotCom Team when I say that we are stronger because we have Caley on our team!

LET’S GET TO KNOW MORE ABOUT CALEY!

WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO BECOME A SPEECH THERAPIST?

I’ve always known I wanted to go into a field where I could help those with disabilities or challenges. Initially, I thought I wanted to get a degree in Special Education. When I talked with a friend of mine who was a Speech-Language Pathologist at the time, I quickly realized the great need for therapists and the impact I could make in this field. It was an easy choice from there! Communication is such an important part of life and something I’ve increasingly passionate about.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT TELETHERAPY?

My favorite things about teletherapy would have to be both the productivity and flexibility. I’m able to spend quality time preparing therapy materials and focusing on direct therapy. I also have an entire team of therapists available at any given minute to answer a question, give an assessment, or fill in as needed. I have learned so much in such a short time. And of course, who wouldn’t love getting some laundry and dishes done between breaks? Flexibility has been a game changer!

WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO JOIN THE DOTCOM THERAPY TEAM?

I joined DotCom straight out of graduate school. I was so intrigued by the idea of how many people you could reach through teletherapy and of course wanted the luxury and flexibility that goes along with it. DotCom was a consistent front runner in teletherapy based on the research I had done. I heard people speak so highly of the founder and knew it would be a good fit for me. It really is like a virtual family! The way they take care of their therapists has always amazed me. I’ve built relationships with therapists and schools that are stronger than I ever imagined.

FILL IN THE BLANK.  WHEN I’M NOT WORKING, YOU’LL MOST LIKELY FIND ME….

…at my local fitness studio! I get to teach kickboxing and cardio classes in the mornings and evenings thanks to my flexible schedule with DotCom. Besides fitness, I spend a majority of time outdoors and with family. Some of my favorite hobbies include fishing and hunting. I was recently able to spend some early mornings with my dad turkey hunting just prior to hopping on my direct therapy sessions. DotCom has been amazing! I am ecstatic to see what’s in store for the future!

It has been a true honor getting to know Caley and calling her a colleague.  Thank you for all you do, Caley!!
