In honor of Giving Tuesday, we asked our therapists about their favorite charities.

Here are the highlighted charities that DotCom Therapists love:

  • Camp Encourage: https://www.campencourage.org/  Camp Encourage is a Kansas City area camp for individuals with autism between the ages of 8-18.  It also has camping opportunities for "peer models” that are same-age peers not diagnosed with autism to encourage social growth for all involved.

  • Rapha House: https://raphahouse.org  This nonprofit organization based out of Joplin, MO has a mission to end trafficking and exploitation of children.

  • Sammy’s Window: https://www.fosteradopt.org/southwest-mo/programs/sammys-window/  This charity based out of Springfield, MO provides services and materials to foster and adoptive parents.

  • UN Women-HeforShe: https://heforsheblog.wordpress.com This organization was initiated by UNWomen. Its mission is to actively involve boys and men in the fight for gender equality.

  • Compassion International: http://www.compassion.com/about/what-is-compassion.htm Compassion International is a child-advocacy ministry that pairs children in poverty with a sponsor that funds medical checkups, nutritious food, hygiene and more.

  • Apparent Project: http://apparentproject.org/what-we-do/  Apparent Project has a mission to "make Haitian needs known” by working with Haitian companies to provide artisans with a living wage.  They also have an infant and toddler at-risk program in Haiti.

  • Green Beret Foundation: http://www.greenberetfoundation.org/ The Green Beret Foundation is committed to serving the Army Special Forces, past and present, in addition to their families, by connecting them with resources or providing them with  necessary support needed to thrive.

  • American Cancer Society: http://www.cancer.org/ The American Cancer Society was founded over a hundred years ago and focuses on finding cures, supporting those fighting cancer, and assisting families of those fighting.

  • National Multiple Sclerosis Society: http://www.nationalmssociety.org/ The National MS Society focuses on providing support to those diagnosed with MS in addition to using funds to help find a cure!

  • Candy’s Place: http://cancerwellnessnepa.org/ This nonprofit organization, based out of PA, has a facility and offers programs to support those who are battling cancer and enhance their medical treatment.

  • St. Jude’s Hospital: https://www.stjude.org/ St. Jude’s focus is to defend and treat childhood cancers and life-threatening illnesses. The families of individuals treated by St. Jude’s receive treatment free of cost.

  •  One Child Matters: http://www.onechildmatters.org/ One Child Matters mission is to "bring hope, truth, life, love, and mercy to children living in poverty around the world.”

  • Back on My Feet: http://www.backonmyfeet.org/mission-vision Back on My Feet is a national organization that works to fight homelessness by building relationships through running and working to secure employment and housing for homeless individuals or individuals at risk.
